News for Tora-Con 2010:

Tora-Con 2010 announces dates, pre-registration, and first guests

ROCHESTER, NY - September 28, 2009 - The RIT Anime Club is excited to announce the dates for this year's Tora-Con, as well as pre-registration prices and our first round of guests: Christopher Sabat and Monica Rial!

Christopher Sabat has worked in voiceover and audio production for over 10 years. His experience in anime began in 1998 when he was cast as Yamcha and Igor on the Dragon Ball movie, "Sleeping Princess In Devil's Castle". Soon afterwards, he was asked to join the anime giant FUNimation Productions to direct the Dragon Ball Z series. Since then, he has directed over 800 episodes of various anime, cartoons and videogames. And along the way, he has voiced some of the world's most popular anime characters including Vegeta, Piccolo, and Yamcha in Dragonball Z, Kuwabara and Rizen in Yu Yu Hakusho, Jigen in Lupin III, Ayame in Fruits Basket, Alex Luis Armstrong in Full Metal Alchemist, Father Tres in Trinity Blood, Kikichio in Samurai 7, Kurogane in Tsubasa Chronicles, Naru Naru in Kodocha, Saiga in Speed Grapher, Roy in Solty Rei, Roronoa Zoro in One Piece and others.

Monica Rial has been working in the anime voice over industry for 10 years. As an actress for ADV Films and Funimation Entertainment has lent her voice to over 150 anime including: Misuzu in Air TV, Nyamo in Azumanga Daioh, Chane in Baccano!, Hyatt in Excel Saga, Kyoko in Full Metal Panic, Kirika in Noir, Tashigi/Carue in One Piece, Renge in Ouran Host Club, Izumi in Princess Nine, Haruka in Rahxephon, Misa in Macross, Saya/Saizo in Peacemaker Kurogane, Momoka in Sergeant Frog, Lara in School Rumble, Asa in Shuffle!, Kagura in Speed Grapher, Sakura in Tsubasa Chronicles, Tsubaki in Soul Eater, Ai in Crayon Shinchan, Lyra/Dante in Fullmetal Alchemist, Amy in Case Closed, Vanessa in Trinity Blood, and many more. She is also an ADR script adaptor and director for Funimation Entertainment.

Also, Tora-Con is expanding into a two-day convention! Tora-Con 2010 will be held April 24th - 25th, 2010 on the Rochester Institute of Technology campus in Rochester, New York.

Pre-registration will start October 8th and, due to this expansion, will only be for both days - $20 for the entire weekend. At-door price will be $30, $20 for Saturday only, and $15 for Sunday only.

Pre-registration forms will be up on the official site (http://toracon.rit.edu) starting October 8th.

ABOUT TORA-CON: Tora-Con was created by the Rochester Institute of Technology Anime Club to provide anime and manga related entertainment to the Rochester area and beyond. The convention is planned and prepared by a dedicated Anime Club E-Board made up of RIT students.
