Anime Charity Auctions announces the launch of its MySpace page to help anime conventions find rare and unique items for charity auctions

September 18, 2009 – Beverly Hills, CA -- Anime Charity Auctions is pleased to announce the opening of the "Anime Charity Auctions" MySpace page at http://profile.myspace.com/animecharityauctions. Anime Charity Auctions is a group of individuals and companies involved in the anime and videogame industry that have volunteered their time and support to help anime and science fiction conventions with their charity auctions by providing autographed items, rare & unique items, guest auctioneers and logistical support to make each convention's charity auction a success. The items are donated by industry professionals and companies who recognize the importance of giving back to the community. Anime Charity Auctions is happy to provide material support to an anime convention's charity auction that donates their entire proceeds from the auction to not-for-profit charitable organizations that qualify under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code.

Jonathan Klein, one of the organizers for Anime Charity Auctions, stated, "While our efforts in the past have strictly been through word-of-mouth, we now have an official location on the web where convention chair-people and organizers of charity auctions can visit, look through the items we have to offer and make contact with us many months in advance of their conventions. Our goal is to help as many charity auctions as possible through whatever support we can provide from our experienced industry volunteers. The key for us to help reach that goal is to work with you far enough in advance of the convention to ensure the success of your charity auction."

So far in 2009, Anime Charity Auctions has helped raise more than $70,000 for many worthwhile charitable causes at various charity auctions throughout the United States and in other parts of the world, including the American Red Cross, the Make-A-Wish Foundation & the Starlight Children's Foundation.

On the MySpace site, visitors will find many items ready to be donated to anime convention charity auctions. Items such as autographed anime DVDs, videogames, posters, action figures and original art. You will find items from such anime series as Beck, Big O, Black Lagoon, Ergo Proxy, Haibane Renmei, Hellsing, Paranoia Agent, R.O.D. the TV, Texhnolyze, Trinity Blood, Space Cruiser Yamato as well as items autographed from such renown Japanese writers, artists & creators such as Dai Sato (Freedom), Hideyuki Kurata (Read or Die), Kouta Hirano (Hellsing), Leiji Matsumoto (Captain Harlock), Seizo Watase (Heart Cocktail) and Yoshitoshi ABe (Haibane Renmei), as well as many others. These autographed items were collected and donated through the help of anime industry voice actors Carrie Savage, Clarine Harp, and anime/videogame producer-director Jonathan Klein, as well the generosity of their respective companies, FUNimation Entertainment and New Generation Pictures, Inc. Anime Charity Auctions would also like thank the many actors, artists and industry professionals, both in the United States and Japan, who gave their time to autograph so many of the items we have made available to auction.
