News for Aurora-Con 2008:

AuroraCorp to host third annual Aurora-Con anime and video game convention

Anchorage, Alaska - September 8th, 2008 - AuroraCorp formally announces their third annual Anime and Video Game convention, Aurora-Con. To be held at the Egan Convention Center on Sept. 27th and 28th.

Aurora-Con will be an all day event starting at 11am to 9pm on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th. Admission at the door will be $25 on Saturday and $10 on Sunday for everyone 13 years of age and over, kids 7-12 are half off, and children 6 and under get in the convention for free.

AuroraCorp is proud to announce 3 guests of honor for this year's convention:

Vic Mignogna
is a professional music composer/producer and veteran actor who is currently known as the voice of Yukito in Air, Fai in Tsubasa and Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist.
Currently he is playing the role of Fay in Tsubasa Chronicle and just finished Ikkaku in Bleach. He is also playing the role of Hikaru in ADV's Macross. Vic is known for such roles as Dark in DN Angel, Tatsu in Peacemaker, Kurz in Full Metal Panic, Broly in Dragonball Z, Kougagai in Saiyuki, Mamoru in RahXephon, Hiroki in Princess Nine, Goemon in Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Shougou in Megazone 23, Gawl in Generator Gawl, and in Playstation II games Unlimited Saga and Yu Yu Hakasho.
He has also done characters in Streetfighter, Sin, Spriggan, Gasaraki, Noir, Steel Angel Karumi, Orphen, Excel Saga, Evangelion (director's cut), A.D. Colleen Clickenbeard
is a voice actor/ADR director/ADR scriptwriter/ Line Producer for FUNimation Productions. Her voice acting credits include: Rose Thomas and Riza Hawkeye in Fullmetal Alchemist, Luffy in the new FUNimation dub One Piece, Himawari and Maso in Shin Chan, Sister Esther in Trinity Blood, Rose in Solty Rei, Reina in Witchblade, Yuko in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Éclair in Kiddy Grade, Rachel Moore in Case Closed, Maria in Burst Angel, Kirara in Samurai 7, Mama in Kodocha, Sakurako and Shizuna in Negima, Mitsuki in Rumbling Hearts, Hotorubi in Basilisk, Anegasaki in School Rumble, Oleander in Lupin III: Dead or Alive, Mary in Lupin III: Farewell to Nostradamus, and Diamond Daydreams and Ghost Train for ADV Films. Brett Uher
is excited to return to Aurora-Con for his third year in a row! Our own Alaskan born artist graduated from the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. Having recently done artwork for TokyoPop on the manga Dark Moon Diary, Brett currently is working on more volumes for Dark Moon Diary and has done a nine-page short story for the upcoming Princess Ai: Rumors from the Other Side anthology.

Highlighting some of the events will be an Iron Artist contests, Cosplay contests, a live concert by Mr. Mignogna, Guest panels, Video Game tournaments, Zombie make-up panel, J-Pop Dance, and much more. Another highlight will be our open video game room. Where you will be able to play some of the hot new games and some games that will take you all the way back to the Atari 2600. Some of the featured video game tournaments that will be held there that day are:

Guitar Hero
Soul Calibur 4
And more!

Also for the first time at Aurora-Con is Anchorage's first Zombie Walk. Zombies will haunt downtown Anchorage both nights of the convention. Grouping starts at 7:30pm, walk starts at 8pm. Come to the convention and get zombiefied or come to be a hunter or just come to enjoy the experience.

Both days there will be a room dedicated to showing Japanese animation or Anime. This room will feature series for young and old for the entire length of the convention.

Rounding out the entire convention is our huge Dealer's Room and Market Place. Local vendors and outside vendors will be their selling products feature anime characters, video games, and any Asian related material.

AuroraCorp is a non-profit organization that focusing on teaching Japanese culture through the means of Anime, video games, and manga. AuroraCorp started in October of 2005 with a vision on bringing Japanese culture and pop culture to Alaska.
