Anime Boston announces final round of guests

Northeast's largest anime convention announces latest additions to all-star lineup

BOSTON, April 1, 2007 – Anime Boston is pleased to announce its final round of guests. From Japan, the convention welcomes Hiroshi Iwata, producer of Macross, and Kenji Terada, writer for Kimagure Orange Road and the first three Final Fantasy titles. The convention also warmly greets voice actress Brina Palencia.

Brina Palencia is relatively new to the voice acting scene. Noted as the voice of Eve from Black Cat, Palencia has also starred in Full Metal Alchemist, Speed Grapher, Gunslinger Girl and Negima!. Most recently, Palencia has been cast as Maho Minami in BECK: Mongloian Chop Squad and Elisa Wasmeyer in Trinity Blood. Palencia has also voiced characters in Solty Rei, Spiral, The Galaxy Railways and Samurai 7.

Hiroshi Iwata is perhaps best known as a producer for Macross: Do You Remember Love? and the Macross TV series. He has also been a producer for the Time Patrol-Tai Otasukeman television series and the Outlanders OAV. He served as a director on Mori no Youki na Kobito-tachi: Berufi to Rirubitto (The Littl' Bits), which has aired in the United States on Nickelodeon. Iwata is well known to the U.S. market, working on various shows for ABC in the early 1970s. Most recently, Iwata has become a freelance producer, working on Hello Kitty, Keroppi, and Batsumaru for Sanrio.

Kenji Terada is a prolific screenwriter who has an impressive list of credits to his name. He is likely best known as the writer for the first three games in the Final Fantasy series and as the series organizer and main scriptwriter for Kimagure Orange Road. His writing credits also include Space Adventure Cobra, Genesis Climber Mospeada, Kinnikuman, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, Dirty Pair, Dancougar - Super Beast Machine God, BAOH, Ushio and Tora, Wedding Peach, and the Batman: Dark Tomorrow video game. He served as a director for the Outlanders OAV. Recently, Mr. Terada was tapped as a story consultant for the film Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.

Other previously announced guests are Greg Ayres, Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, Chris Bevins, Luci Christian, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Robert and Emily DeJesus, Yasuhiro Imagawa, Mike McFarland, Junji Nishimura, Mike Sinterniklaas, David Williams and Travis Willingham.

Anime Boston is an annual three-day Japanese animation convention held in Boston, Massachusetts. Anime Boston 2007 will be held Friday, April 20th through Sunday, April 22nd at the Hynes Convention Center and Sheraton Boston Hotel.
