Nekocon announces its first Japanese musical guest of 2011
June 8th, 2011 - Fashion Designer & International DJ TAKUYA ANGEL is set to appear at Nekocon 2011. The appearance will consist of a live DJ set at one of the dances that will also include the 2011 Nekocon Exclusive Takuya Angel Fashion Show, merchandise sales, autograph sessions, a Fan Q&A panel, and possible other surprises! Nekocon 2011 will take place on November 4th-6th at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, Virginia.
Born in Osaka, 1967, Takuya had ambitions to become an artist and was always consumed by drawings. After graduating high school and working as a store clerk, in 1986 he started working as a DJ, and worked on many genres. The mixed genre theme carried on to his work, creating the Takuya Angel of today.
Taking Kimonos into the 21st century and beyond, Takuya Angel consists of a riot of colors, patterns and shapes. From PVC to antique kimonos as materials, fluorescent and monochromatic colors take inspiration from the environment, angels, childhood and current anime, historical outfits of Japan to create the wild and stylish look of Takuya Angel
Nekocon, Virginia's oldest and longest running anime convention, is located in the eastern part of Virginia (Hampton Roads area.) Every November the Nekocon staff pull together many enriching and entertaining activities for fans by fans, and 2011 will be our 14th year.
