Anime St. Louis announces The Slants as musical guest for 2011 convention

Collinsville, IL - January 4, 2011 - Anime St. Louis is proud to announce The Slants in addition to their current line of honored guests. The Slants are an Asian dance rock band hailing from Portland, OR who have been sweeping the country playing at another anime conventions, such as Sakuracon and Nan Desu Kan, as well as receiving international press (Shojo Beat's hot list) and NPR's "All Things Considered." The band has also been a headliner at events such as SXSW and MusicfestNW, along with acts such as Katy Perry, The Decemberists, Girl Talk, and Vampire Weekend. They will be joining other guests at the convention such as Kyle Hebert, Dirk Tiede, Todd Haberkorn, Doug Walker, and many more.

Anime St. Louis will offer the unique opportunity for personal face time with The Slants at their exhibitor's booth, at panels, and their autograph session. In addition to the main concert, The Slants will be performing a rare, intimate, acoustic set for fans during the weekend.

"We're excited to play Anime St. Louis again," states Slants' bassist and founding member Simon Young, "we performed there in 2009 and still talk to fans in the area almost everyday. They'll definitely be excited to hear all of the songs from the new album we've released...not to mention see the surprises that we've added to the live show!"

The convention will take place at the Gateway Center in Collinsville, IL during April 15-17, 2011.
