News for Kawaii Kon 2010:

Kawaii Kon announces first guests of honor for 2010

Honolulu, HI, December 31, 2009- Kawaii Kon is proud to announce Johnny Yong Bosch, Vic Mignogna, Wendy Powell, Samantha Inoue-Hart, Bob Dejesus, Emily Dejesus and David Williams will be joining us as guests of honor for our 2010 show! Stay tuned for more guest announcements!

Johnny Yong Bosch
Johnny is best known for portraying Adam Park in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and being the English voice of Vash the Stampede in Trigun, as well as the voice of Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach, Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Itsuki Koizumi in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Kiba in Wolf's Rain, Renton Thurston in Eureka Seven, Emil Castagnier in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Shotaro Kaneda in Akira, and Nero in Devil May Cry 4. He's also a two time American Anime Award nominee.

Vic Mignogna
Vic Mignogna is a professional music composer/producer and veteran actor who received great acclaim for his protrayal of Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist. More recently, MIgnogna has been cast as Hikaru in Macross. He is known for such roles as Dark in D.N.Angel, Tatsu in Peacemaker, Kurz in Full Metal Panic, Broly in Dragon Ball Z, and Gawl in Generator Gawl, just to name a few.

Wendy Powell
Wendy has been a professional voice actress for Funimation Entertainment and Okratron 5000 for over 7 years. She is best known for her role as Envy from Full Metal Alchemist. She was more recently cast as Ilene in Claymore. Some of her other credits include Emi in Baki the Grappler, Amick in Blue Gender, Kyo's Mother in Fruits Basket and the Fever Demon in Crayon Shin-Chan. Robert and Emily DeJesus (Studio Capsule)
Robert has drawn manga inspired art for over 18 years, and has been published all over the world by companies such as Playstation Magazine, Marvel, Hasbro, and most recently Harper Collins Publishing. Emily hels to write the web comic "How to Loathe Drawing in the Manga Style" and has recently finished writing her first children's book. Togehter as Studio capsule, they are involved in creating a line of low print run doujinshi, portfolios, animated shorts and other projects of every kind. Samantha Inoue Harte
Samantha began her work in the animation industry through her teaching in 1998. She is currently teaching animation at a Texas college. She has worked for several animation studios, including Disney, Warner Brothers Classics, and Mattel Interactive, just to name a few. She has also done voice work, providing the voices for Kohran Ri in Sakura Wars, Delmo in Cosplay Complex, Pipin in Magical Play, and Chobi the Chocobo in Final Fantasy Unlimited.

David Williams
David Williams is a former ADR Director for ADV Films. He has directed Angelic Layer, Najica, the Original Nuku Nuku OVA's, Dirty Pair, and many others.

About Kawaii Kon
Kawaii Kon 2010 will be held April 16-18th, 2010 at the Hawaii Convention Center.

Kawaii Kon is a three-day convention event dedicated to creating a broader awareness of, and appreciation for Japanese animation by celebrating the richness of this artform. Through cooperation with the community, Kawaii Kon hopes to facilitate growth of the anime, manga and related industries in Hawaii and beyond. In addition to providing a central event for fans and enthusiasts, Kawaii Kon seeks to become a vehicle for sharing and disseminating industry information. Kawaii Kon also provides the community and related industries the opportunity to network and conduct business.

Thanks to the support of organizations like Bandai Entertainment, Manga Entertainment, The Honolulu Festival, The Hawaii International Film Festival and the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, Kawaii Kon has grown in just five years to include thousands of annual attendees. Fans, artists and industry guests gather from all over the world for the 3-Day extravaganza.
