News for Kawa Kon 2010:
Kawa Kon announces fanfiction contest, AMV contest, and Vampire Knight ball
Kawa Kon 2010, St. Louis' themed anime convention, is adding three new events this year along with the Japanese culture-themed events and returning events.
The FanFiction Contest allows you to put your favorite characters into your own story. Whether you're writing a romantic pairing, a crossover of your two favorite shows, or a new adventure for an iconic character, Kawa Kon wants to read it!
Think you're better at telling stories with editing software? The AMV Contest is for you! Kawa Kon's first AMV Contest will reward the best AMVs ("anime music videos", or videos created from re-edited clips of your favorite shows) with a public showing and prizes.
Check out the Contests Page of Kawa Kon's website for more information about both contests!
Finally, Kawa Kon is pleased to announce that the Silver Aura of Dawn Cosplay group will present a Vampire Knight Ball on Friday, March 12. The Ball is a chance for fans of vampires of all sorts to enjoy dancing, light refreshments, and conversation with the "cast" of the manga and anime Vampire Knight (played by the cosplayers). The Ball will take place late in the evening, giving you a chance to attend other events, such as the Vampire Knight panel and the cherry blossom viewing-themed host party.
Kawa Kon is the Midwest's exciting themed anime convention, offering in 2010 a unique weekend expedition into Japanese traditional culture through its Matsuri! theme. With one of the best cosplay masquerades in the region (including personalized tech rehearsals) and a discount for anyone in costume, Kawa Kon encourages exploration of anime through costume and role-play.
