Otakon, which was held two weeks ago in Baltimore, Maryland, reports that a former member of Otakon staff, Geoff Beebe, had been inappropriately selling discounted memberships. They are seeking out anyone with information relevant to their investigation.
Less than two weeks since it was announced that Anime Evolution 2008 was postponed due to loss of venue, a new venue has been found for the original convention dates. Last night it was announced that the convention will now be held at the University of British Columbia.

AnimeCons.com has just received word that Lawrence Stuckey, the chairman of T-MODE, has unexpectedly passed away. His wife, Sharvonique Renee Fortune-Stuckey, who is also the vice chairman of T-MODE, announced her husband's passing on the T-MODE web site.
AnimeCons.com has just received word that Neo NohCon has been canceled due to weather. Annie Stoll, the president of the Daemen College Anime Club, has issued a statement saying that all registrations will be refunded.
Zakyou-Con, which used the tagline "Anime is not dead, it lives at Zakyou-Con", will have to put off that living for another year. The 2008 convention has been postponed. It had been scheduled for this May in Richmond, Kentucky.
