Biography:
Bill Timoney (aka "Billy Regan") entered the Anime-dubbing industry in 1991. He is best known as the voice of Parn, the brash hero of the OAV Record of Lodoss War and its TV version Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. Bill's other major anime-dubbing roles are Madarame in the fan-boy comedy Genshiken, Mr. Sakano in Gravitation, Hajime in Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars, saucy cat-scepter Setora in the Queen's Blade series, and Nagumo in the notorious Legend of the Overfiend and its sequel Legend of the Demon Womb. For the TV series Pokemon, Bill voiced the recurring roles of Nando, Izzy, Harley (#2), Dr. Kenzo, and Conway. In the Pokemon TV movie The Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon, he voiced the dual roles of Dr. Yung and the Mirage Master.
Bill adapted the scripts and directed the dubbing sessions for Gravitation, Jewel BEM Hunter Lime, Madara, Genshiken 1 & 2 (and its' companion show Kujibiki Unbalance), and Gokudo: Swordsman Extraordinaire. He also directed recording sessions for episodes of Comic Party and Record of Lodoss War, and adapted scripts for Magical Witch Punie and the Turkish animated film Rumi Mevlana.
Bill voiced roles in the anime shows Perfect Blue, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, E.Y.E.S. of Mars, Here is Greenwood, Iria: Zeiram the Animation, My My Mai, Battle Arena Toshinden, Legend of Himiko, Battle Athletes, Black Heaven, Battle Skipper, Mobile Suit Gundam, Gatchaman II, Fist of the North Star, Serial Experiments Lain, Madara, .Hack, Street Fighter II V, Comic Party, Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer, Dominion: Tank Police, Dual: Parallel Trouble Adventure, Magical Witch Punie, Ikki Tousen, Mai Mai Miracle, Gokudo: Swordsman Extraordinaire, Outlaw Star and Digimon. Bill's voice-work in animation from other countries includes Russia's Alosha Popovich (in the title role), Italy's Eggy, South Korea's The DoooDolls and Hammerboy, China's Universal Force: Seer Squad, and Spain's Pup 2 No Good. For the Italian-made animated film Padre Pio, Bill voiced the role of Jesus Christ. One of Bill's favorite voice roles is the robot "Unit #19," a lead role in the Argentinian animated feature film The Star Maker.
Bill's voice work in the dubbed versions of live-action films includes the Iranian horror film Under The Shadow, the French zombie flick The Horde, Jackie Chan's Project A, The Storm Riders, Zero Woman, Tokyo Raiders, the Soviet cosmonaut drama Salyut-7, and "Best Foreign Language" Oscar winners Il Postino and Kolya. He dubbed veteran actor Ren Osugi in J-horror filmmaker Sion Sono's cult hit Exte: Hair Extensions.
Bill has done voice work in hundreds of American movies and TV shows. He's the voice of "Mindhead" in the Frank Oz/Steve Martin/Eddie Murphy comedy Bowfinger, the World War II newsreel narrator in Molly: An American Girl on the Home Front, one of the Greek Chorus voices in Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite, and the voice of the spacecraft computer in the Disney movie Mission to Mars. He voiced featured roles in the annual holiday TV special A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa.
Bill's best-known on-camera role is "Alfred Vanderpool," which he played on the soap opera All My Children from 1982 to 2007. He acted with Bryan Cranston in both the Broadway and HBO film versions of All The Way. He's appeared on the TV shows Mr. Robot, Orange is the New Black, The Good Cop, Malcolm in the Middle, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Person of Interest. He played the recurring role of "Senator Royce" on the first season of the SyFy Channel's TV series 12 Monkeys. Bill recently filmed a scene with Robert De Niro for Martin Scorsese's upcoming feature film The Irishman.
