Biography:
MEISHI SMILE is an electronic project that derives influence from genres both equally pop and experimental, taking note from the cathartic afterglow of harsh noise, mixed with the joyful idealism of Japanese Pop and hazed out by the meditative sentiment of shoegaze.
Being a proponent of J-Pop and net label culture, MEISHI SMILE has released albums with famed Japanese netlabels such as Maltine Records, who have been associated with big name artists such as Dempagumi.inc, Tokyo Girls' Style, livetune and more. MEISHI SMILE has also performed at conventions such as Anime Expo, being billed alongside such acts as RAM RIDER and Skirt Disco, drawing in a crowd of 1,700+ people.
MEISHI SMILE also runs a label called ZOOM LENS, which hosts the music of both American and Japanese talent. MEISHI SMILE represents the next generation of American-based Japanese Pop culture enthusiasts who are set to change the perception of J-Pop and bring a greater sense of global warmth and appreciation for the music and culture.
