Biography:
Born in Liverpool on 20 January, 1934 Tom Baker's fame became cemented when he stepped into the TARDIS as the third Doctor in the BBC's much loved long running sci-fi show Doctor Who. His portrayal of the character as a be-scarfed bohemian odd-ball would become cemented across the world as the 'default Doctor' and this would be an un-challenged mental image until David Tennant's turn at the role as the 10th Doctor some 24 years later.
