Biography:
Angel was born in Modesto, California. His first jobs in the industry included guest appearances in various Scooby Doo cartoons as well as in the series Super Friends, in which he played Hawkman, he also voiced Governor Wetworth on The Snorks, The Flash and Samurai.
In the Transformers series, he was the voice of Astrotrain, Ramjet, Cyclonus (following the death of Roger C. Carmel), Omega Supreme, and Ultra Magnus (animated television series only). He also lent his voice to the character Dr. Zachary Darret in the 1984 CBS cartoon series Pole Position (TV series). In 1995 he was the voice of Nikki in Balto, an animated film produced by Universal Studios and Amblin Entertainment, and also appeared in Dino-riders and G.I. Joe. In these three cartoons, he often acts alongside Frank Welker, Chris Latta, Peter Cullen and Charlie Adler. He also voices the SWATbots on Sonic the Hedgehog. Also, he played the voice of Liquidator on Darkwing Duck. He played the Chief of Police in Goof Troop and also voiced Nick Fury on Spider-Man:The Animated series.
In 2001, Angel was the voice of "Teddy" in the movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence and provided additional voices in animated films such as A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Cars, Horton Hears a Who and the voice of the shark in Toy Story. Angel has also ventured into video games, and narrating the cult hit killer7 as well as playing Wonkers the Watilla in Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, The Mayor in Ratchet & Clank, and Captain Teague in the video game version of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
In 2007, he voiced an alien called Technorg on Ben 10 and Comrade Chaos on El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera.
Jack Angel's popular radio programs were heard on stations KMPC and KFI, Los Angeles.
He also played Chunk in the Pixar film Toy Story 3. He played as the pirate captain in an episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
