Comic Convention
NC Comicon was founded in 2010 by comics retailer and entrepreneur Alan Gill with the mission of bringing the ultimate celebration of comics and pop-culture to the Triangle. Seven years on, NCC has become one of the most prestigious cons in the country, drawing fans and aspiring creators from around the world and regularly featuring all-star creators and guests such as Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance, Doom Patrol), Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead), John Barrowman (Dr. Who, Arrow), Klaus Janson (The Dark Knight Returns) and more as well as industry-leading publishers like DC Comics and IDW.
With its creator-focused vision and intimate, all-encompassing atmosphere, NC Comicon is a prime destination for fans and creators of all walks and passions to learn, celebrate, and share in a wide variety of interests and fandoms, from comics to cosplay, gaming, film, animation, design, and more. Regardless of age or experience level, all are invited and welcome at an NCC show.
In 2017, NC Comicon expanded its efforts to two yearly shows in the Triangle, with NC Comicon: Oak City taking place each March in Downtown Raleigh and NC Comicon: Bull City setting up shop in the heart of Durham every November. Both shows offer unique experiences for fans from across the state and the globe and promise twice the amount of guests, events, parties, and surprises NCC is known for.
