New England Anime Society Announces Anime Boston 2003

From New England Anime Society

The New England Anime Society, Inc., a non-profit organization, and Anime on DVD (www.animeondvd.com) the Internet's largest web site devoted to Japanese Animation on DVD, are pleased to announce Anime Boston 2003 (www.animeboston.com).

Anime Boston 2003 will be a three-day convention held April 18-20, 2003 at the historic Boston Park Plaza Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Adam Ferraro, convention chairman, stated that Anime Boston brings a fan-run anime convention to New England's largest city.

"Japanese Animation (commonly referred to as "anime") is a growing phenomenon in the United States, with sales of videos routinely ranking in the top of the charts. For a long time the New England region has lagged behind in gatherings of this type, and hopefully, with this convention things will start to change," said Mr. Ferraro "We are all very excited to be a part of this."

Anime Boston's diverse programming schedule includes a masquerade contest, game shows, modeling contest, music video contest, art show, role playing, karaoke and more! Panel programming consists of fan panels as well as panels hosted by our guests of honor and special one of a kind panels found nowhere else. The video game program brings to attendees the Game Dungeon - over 5,000 square feet of dedicated gaming space. The video-programming track has three giant video rooms open until the early morning hours showing videos from the past, present and future. Moreover, there is a dedicated anime dealers' room selling anime related merchandise.

The official convention hotel is the historic Boston Park Plaza Hotel, located right in the heart of beautiful downtown Boston. The New England Anime Society has negotiated a special room rate for the convention at $119.00 per night. This rate applies for either a single or double room! Reservations can be made by calling the Boston Park Plaza central reservations office toll free (1-800-225-2008) or directly through The Boston Park Plaza reservation line (1-617-426-2000). You must mention "Anime Boston" to get the discount. A three-day pass for Anime Boston is $25.00 with registration before July 2002. Registration forms are available at the official convention web site: www.animeboston.com
