Alexandra Watson
Site Coordinator
JrockRevolution.com
Denver, CO
Biography:
Alexandra (Ali) Watson is a Denver-based nomad of the Oglala Lakota and Choctaw tribes.
Traveling is in her Native blood, and that's what writing and this crazy love of Japanese rock music has enabled her to do year after year.
Back during the decline of the visual kei boom in Japan, Ali was just getting into the scene, listening to bands like BUCK-TICK and DIR EN GREY. In 2008, she joined the original post-festival group running JrockRevolution.com as an Internet lackey and researcher. Soon, she moved into developing their impressive social media network and handled all press relations between JRR.com and international promoters, managements and artists. After that, she worked on the webzine, writing reports and reviews as well as conducting a variety of artist interviews.
Since 2010, Ali has been the Site Coordinator of JrockRevolution.com, continuing to develop positive relationships with Japan-based companies as well as international channels to continue bringing fans news on their favorite Japanese artists.
Running the webzine has been but the tip of the iceberg. Since 2009, Ali has ventured into other arenas pertaining to music, including concert photography, designing official band merchandise, bridging connections for artists in movies and video games, and now artist representation in 2015. Her philosophy: With enough ambition, you can achieve anything.
