Daric "Jingoro" Jackson
AMV Creator
Atlanta, GA
Biography:
AMV's have been an integral part of anime fan conventions since the late 1980s, and one of the best known pioneers of their popularity is Daric "Jingoro" Jackson. Jingoro ran the AMV contest the first seven years of Anime Weekend Atlanta (and recently picked up the reigns again three years ago and is running it this year, too!) He was the first person to take the standard Anime Music Video contest and develop it into a 24 hour entertainment track at a convention (The Video Art Track at Anime Weekend Atlanta.) His editing expertise extends from the lost art of VHS to the modern world of digital encoding. Jingoro has presented Anime Music Video events and programming other conventions across the U.S. including Dragon*Con, Florida Supercon, Gen Con, InvaderCON, and JACON.
