News for MomoCon 2009:

MomoCon announces dates and guests

Atlanta, GA. - October 20th, 2008 - Anime O-Tekku of Georgia Tech is pleased to announce the return of MomoCon, an annual anime/gaming/costuming/comics convention held in Atlanta, GA, March 14-15, 2009 at Georgia Tech campus. The convention is a family friendly event and is free of charge* to all attendees. People of all ages are encouraged to attend!

The upcoming new year brings new events and features to MomoCon, the largest free admission fan convention in the US. The convention theme for 2009 is campy-retro science fiction, and the current guest lineup includes Bill Hollbrook, syndicated comic creator of Kevin and Kell, featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Bill Winans, prop-maker and resin-caster, Bobby Nash, comic writer and novelist, Anne Brunsgaard, experienced costumer, John Lotshaw, comic creator of Accidental Centaurs.

MomoCon also is proud to feature an extended Retro Video Gaming room, expanded board and card gaming options, additional anime and live-action viewing rooms, and support from fan organizations across the southeast! Other events include kimono workshops, a live resin casting demonstration, a special introduction to Japanese cooking, and panels on everything from Ball Jointed dolls to art-house anime.

MomoCon is always on the look-out for unique panels and events to enhance the convention experience. We believe that the depth of talent available in the Southeast lies largely untapped and underappreciated. We would like to extend an invitation to fans with unique ideas and expertise to visit MomoCon and share with the community.

* Attendees Ages 16 and older admitted with valid government ID (driver's license, military, passport etc) at registration. Minors younger than 16 must have an adult be present at registration to sign-off on their registration form. An adult can sign-off all minors in their party.
