News for Anime Five Cities 2011:

Anime Five Cities and JETS auctions George Takei memorabilia for Japan relief

San Luis Obispo, CA -- Japanese Earthquake Tsunami Support (JETS) of Santa Maria, CA partner with Anime Five Cities (AFC) during their 2011 convention to raise funds for Japan relief. JETS will be present at Anime Five Cities on June 18, 2011 at the Ludwick Community Center in San Luis Obispo to run the silent auction. Along with anime and costume play-related items donated by Cosplay in America and Pacific Media Expo, JETS will auction off an autographed photo of Star Trek actor and Japanese-American activist George Takei.

"We are so happy to connect organizations such as JETS to AFC for Japan relief. We are aware that rebuilding the affected areas of Japan is a long term process and we're honored to have our young staffers and attendees be part of this process even if they're far away," says Paula Angeles, Anime Five Cities' head of Business Development.

100% of the proceeds from the JETS Silent Auction will go to Japan relief. The first 100 people who donate $15 or more will receive a JETS-designed tshirt during the convention.

JETS will share the exhibit hall with the AFC guests of honor: voice-over actress Lauren Landa, and illustrator Irene Flores.
