Biography:
Margaret Caragan has eleven years of experience as a Special Makeup Effects Artist in the Bay Area. She studied Fine Art at Academy of Art University, earning a BA in Sculpture. Margaret can usually be found working as a makeup department head, designing highly detailed makeup effects designs and executing them for commercial and independent film clients. She specializes in casualty and character makeups, creating custom prosthetics for creatures, likeness, old age, injuries and extreme transformations. She competed on the current season of Syfy Channel's FaceOff. Margaret is the owner of Pandora FX, a Bay Area lab and makeup company which provides a broad spectrum of services in special makeup effects, makeup artistry, and practical effects. There are a number of team members that specialize in all things ranging from conceptual art design, body and fashion makeup, effects rigging, specialty costume design, and the making of prosthetics and other custom makeup elements. Pandora FX has worked with various clients on notable TV, film and commercial projects like The Butcher Brothers for the feature horror film The Violent Kind (Sundance Film Festival, 2010), wounds and costuming for TV special Day of the Shark 3 for Shark Week on Discovery Channel, blood and wounds for the simulated carnage of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre for History Channel's "Man, Moment, Machine", animal attack wounds for Animal Planet's TV shows "I Was Bitten" and "I'm Alive", assisting with general makeup and effects on Sundance Award winning film, Fruitvale Station, knife wound simulation for TV show "Wives with Knives", makeup for Ganondorf for Smosh: the Legend of Zelda Rap, and makeup for GamesRadar promos for Dead Island and Resident Evil. The team has also worked with great talents including Martin Landau (Academy Award Winner, Ed Wood) and Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan, Heat).
